About the Event

 This course is at least ten-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. Range Fee is INCLUDED.

Pre-Requisite: NONE

Required Documents

  • Rezilyent Hold Harmless waiver
  • Rezilyent Photo Release (if you have any special requirements, please annotate that information on this form)
  • CFRPC guest waiver signed and dated on the day of your course

Once registered if we do not already have these documents on file we will email you the documents.

Required Items

·  A great attitude and a willingness to learn

 Magazine/s if needed for your shotgun

·  100 rounds of factory ammunition (NO hand loads/reloads): No shot larger than Number 7½ (i.e., 7, 6, 5, or lower shot numbers, including buck shot and  slugs) may be used.

·  Hearing Protection

·  Eye Protection

·  Appropriate range attire (high neck shirts and closed-toed shoes) If you show up dressed inappropriately, you will be asked to leave and reschedule later.

·  Bottled Water

·  Sunscreen

·  Bug Spray

·  Hat (for range time)·  Shotgun: You will be shooting from an unsupported position and should be able to safely control your shotgun.  If you need to rent a shotgun, prior coordination is required, there is a $20 Fee
